After completion & selling (QLD)

Your “handover pack” is the proof your project is compliant and complete.

The handover pack (don’t skip this)

  • Final inspection / occupancy documentation from the certifier (project-dependent)
  • All stage inspection certificates
  • Trade compliance certificates (electrical, plumbing, waterproofing evidence, etc.)
  • Warranties, manuals, model numbers, supplier contacts
  • As-built notes + variation summary (what changed from plans)

Selling implications (overview)

Selling after owner-building can involve disclosures and paperwork. The best “defence” is excellent documentation and a clean final sign-off.

Practical tip
If you might sell within a few years, keep records as if you’ll be asked to prove everything later — because you probably will.
